Where has all the fear and scare gone? Halloween used to be about dracula and vampires and witches when I was growing up. Now, like most things American, it is an over-commercialized party in which you just grab a last-minute "pirate" or "maid" costume from your nearest novelty store. Although I do love and appreciate the innovation and creativity some people use in putting together their costumes, I can't help but be reminded of Lindsay Lohan's character in Mean Girls: "In Girl World, Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it." Trick or treat, indeed.

Girls getaway weekend trip to San Diego was epic. I am really so thankful for my amazing friends!

Having been going to Las Vegas ever since I was a young girl, I have seen the area transform from a gritty, gambling-centric mob-ruled city to the redevelopment of the Strip, full of excess and superabundance. The lavishness allows visitors to escape to a make-believe land, where they can have anything at anytime. Below are a couple snaps from the lobby of the Wynn, which personifies the intrigue and luxury. See you soon for another spontaneous trip, Sin City!

Shamim and Monica and I went to the Hollywood Bowl a few nights ago for an epic concert: Beach House and Vampire Weekend. It is now official that we all want to be Victoria of Beach House and all want to date Ezra of Vampire Weekend. And, who could forget Rostam! His keyboard skills were clearly the product of piano lessons imposed on by Persian parents :) All in all, it was fabulous evening filled with dreamy voices, lovely music, effortless style, romantic preps, and a magical heat only interrupted intermittently by the fragrant summer breeze.

My love letters to LA often arrive in the form of weekend visitors. Something about when others travel to Los Angeles tends to bring out my enchantment with the city, from the views atop the Getty, to walking along the flats of Hollywood, gazing at the stars in the sky and spotting the stars in the streets. With endless places, LA is like a real life choose your own adventure book. If you don’t like where the story is going, flip back to the last choice and make the other one. Of course, as I learned this past weekend, the right choices always include great friends and Yogurtland ... Thank you, Los Angeles, for your alluring and delicious nourishment, the romantic fragrance of your cosmopolitan embrace, and your never-ending, glorious sun-filled days.

In honor of my favorite show, Beverly Hills 90210, and its successor, Gossip Girl, on 9.02.10!

A couple weeks ago I traveled to Vancouver, feeling exhilarated while on the 28th floor balcony of our hotel, amidst the skyline and overlooking downtown and the waterfront. Although I gave up my pseudo-photography hobby I still couldn't help but to take a few blackberry shots embodying the great scene, full of life, fantastic memories and terrific people.

Previously I wrote about how seven Bahá’ís were being held in jail solely because of their Faith. Earlier this past week, these seven Bahá’ís were sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. Freedom of religion should be the birthright of people of all faiths and beliefs in all places. These individuals have done no wrong, and at every stage of the case - from their illegal detention and the brutal conditions of their confinement, through the trial, and now to a completely unlawful imprisonment - not even the most basic and fundamental norms of justice were respected. Read more about the history of this harsh sentence here: Bahá’í World News Service and contact your Congressional representative to support any actions which will be able to shine a spotlight on the Iranian government's behavior. Words can have an effect in making the Iranian authorities aware that they cannot violate basic standards of international human rights unseen by a watchful world.

Inspired by some of my very good friends and their amazing pictures, I decided to take up photography. This lasted 72 hours, after I realized that the digital camera I owned was from 1998, the shutter speed takes longer than dial-up internet, and that I have no money to invest into this (expensive) hobby. Below are about a dozen of the hundreds of random photos I took from three days in Los Angeles last week. Thanks to Poladroid, I was able to make them look cooler than they actually are! ;)

In 1998, I was in France. In 2002, I was in Costa Rica. Four years ago, I was in NYC. This year I will be at home ... And in four years, I am hoping to be in Brazil. Wherever I am watching, I will always love the game and the spirit of the World Cup. Looking forward to Sunday's final match!

Karl reminds us that the lion is the king of the jungle and that Chanel is the king of fashion.

It is my birthday on Saturday and I am hoping for a Chanel dress, YSL pumps and a Miu Miu handbag ... but a cupcake with sprinkles and ice cream would be just as lovely.

Are these real bones?

And if so, can someone please cut off a limb and help me create my new favorite shoe?

This is what I love: Leo sporting a Bruins cap at the Lakers game. The excitement for tonight is intense - lets get Kobe that 5th ring, boys!

Thanks to Rauz and her affinity for documenting her life (because she wont remember if she doesnt have the photo?) here are photos from a make-shift memorial at UCLA for John Wooden. Rest in peace, Coach. Your legacy will live on not only at UCLA and throughout sports, but for all who endeavor to become better leaders.

For the few past years Gisele has wowed everyone at the Costume Institute Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, from her cut-out gown to a short sparkly mini. This year was no exception, and it proved, once again, that Gisele and Tom are the most beautiful couple in the world. The Beckhams might have to surrender their reigning crowns now.

More evidence I should have been an artist (or just that I need to get out of the house?): making a garden out of play-doh.

Spotted Lukas Haas puffing on a cigar outside of Goal on West 3rd. I reminded him how I saw him last June and even showed him the photo we have together, however he had to get back to his "timed" chess game. Ugh. My plan to be part of the inner DiCaprio friends circle seems to have been thwarted by a checkmate.

you know you love me, t.

Britney doesn't care about wearing white before Memorial Day, and neither should you - I mean, look at those cute glasses and amazing smile! Don't call it a comeback ...
